Wishing

The children have been wishing;

Flushing ice cubes down the toilet,

Wearing pajamas inside out

and backward, too.

Dancing little snow dances,

Stomping dirty old snow piles

Kicking the edges off ice shelves

lining sidewalks, curbs.

Ready for their world to be covered up in

New, pristine, fresh-

(whisper it)-

  1. I’m glad the children’s wishes and mine came true!
    The snow is measuring 6 inches on my front porch and more snow continues to fall. Today is the perfect day to write a snow poem!
